The Influence of Additives on the Rheological and Sedimentary Properties of Magnetorheological Fluid

In this research, the influence of additives on rheological and sedimentary properties magnetorheological fluid (MRF) was tested analyzed. The were stearic acid, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), their mixture, respectively. MRF composed carbonyl iron particle, silicone oil, liquid paraffin, graphite bentonite, SDS. results indicated that mainly influenced by mass fraction particle. When fractions particle additive same, shear stress with acid larger than SDS, maximum increment 73.81%. 40–50%, increased firstly then decreased increase external magnetic flux density. 60–70%, stable property mixture better settling rate 91.53% compared to other additives.
